Richard T. McGlew, 81, of Hightstown NJ, formerly of Holland Township and Neptune died Tuesday October 27, 2009. Born May 1, 1928 in North Bergen, Richard was a retired officer of the US Navy. After receiving his bachelor's degree from Fordham University and his master's degree from New York University, Richard worked for Merck & Company for many years. He was an active member and leader in many community groups including the Merck Employees Federal Credit Union, Boy Scouts of America, the Holland Township Kitchen Band and the Lions Club in Milford. He was a former communicant of St. Edward the Confessor, Milford, and of Holy Innocents, Neptune. Richard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia (nee Delaney) and his children, Pam (Bill) Farrell of Jarrettsville, Maryland, Richard (Sandy) of White Lake, Michigan, Robert (Mary) of East Windsor, Paul (Rose) of Robbinsville, and Kevin (Pam) of Burlington. He is also survived by his sister Rosemary (Carsten) Sibbern, 12 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral service will begin 8:45am Monday at the Glackin Saul Funeral Home, 136 Morrison Ave, Hightstown, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:45am at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, 251 Franklin St., Hightstown, NJ. Interment will follow at 1:30pm in Milford Union Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Rd, Milford, NJ 08848. Family and friends may call 2-4pm Sunday at the funeral home.
