One memory he spoke of several times was on summer nights crushing steel cans and affixing them to the heel of his shoes then “skating” down the street kicking up sparks in the dark. I think the next time I see a shooting star or meteor streaking through sky I’ll vision Richard skating through the heavens.

Another fond memory of Richard was our weekly battle of wits over who could come up with the worst puns. Peggy thinks I won on style points, but Richard prevailed on obscurity. I will miss this gentle, intelligent caring man.

Dear Peggy, Maya and Mike, So very sorry to hear of the death on your Father and Grandfather. I have to say he really touched my heart when I met him. He was kind and sweet and very funny. Maya, you took such good care of him. He loved you so much. Remember all the laughs and fun you had with him. That's the way he would have wanted it .
