Canton, Rickie Jean Holland Garner, age 62, of Brian Drive, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Staten Island, New York, she had lived in Haywood County most of her life. She was the daughter of Rick V. and Theresa Holland and was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie "Sunny" Garner, who died in 2010, a son, Brian Hill, and one sister, Mary Cody. She was a US Army veteran and an employee at Evergreen Packaging in the Lime Kiln Department. Rickie loved spending time with her family, traveling and camping all over the United States and also enjoyed crocheting. She is survived by her son, Brian Garner, of Canton; one brother, Buddy Holland and his wife, Lanna, of Mississippi; and two grandchildren, Theresa and Rickey Hill. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2012 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating. Burial will follow at Locust Field Cemetery.
