Robert Lewis Holderbein passed away peacefully at his home in Foresthill on October 20, 2009.

Bob was born in Chico, Calif., to parents Lewis and Anna Holderbein. He married Carol Haas in 1953 and they made their home in Lodi, Calif., for 10 years. They then moved to Tracy, Calif., where they owned and operated Tracy Hobby and Toy. In 1975 they moved to Auburn, Calif., and opened Hobbyland. He then became a successful General Contractor in the Auburn and Foresthill area for the next 20 years.

Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, as well as building and flying model airplanes. He was an active volunteer at Senior Gleaners and the Foresthill Annual Garage Sale as well as a member of the Auburn Rooster Tail Fishing Club and S.I.R.S.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Carol, of 56 years, his son Robert, and wife Doris, his daughter Cindy, and husband Gabe, grandchildren, Alyssa, Brett, Breanne and Emily, and brother, Donald of Canby, Oregon, plus numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Vernon, and Elmore, and his sister Phyllis.

The family is very grateful for the care provided by Sutter Visiting Nurses and Hospice.
