Robert C. Upton, 83, of Ashford, CT, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born in Ashford, CT, son of the late Almond, Sr. and Mary (Busse) Upton. Bob retired as an electrician from the State of Connecticut. He was also a member of St. Philip the Apostle Church, Ashford Senior Center, and Stafford Fish and Game Club. He greatly enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, playing cards, and above all, spending time with his family. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Arlene (Neff) Upton; daughter, Nan (Upton) Hayden and her husband Richard of Union, CT; three grandchildren, Catherine Bocciarelli and her husband Jose Andrade, Elizabeth Fraher and her husband Christopher, and Jonathan Hayden; great granddaughter, Aayla Redinger; brother, Harold Upton and his wife Alyce; two sisters-in-law, Dolores Upton and Marion Upton; cousin, Charles Busse and his wife Mary; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was predeceased by a daughter, Linda L. Upton; sister, Bertha Neff; and two brothers, Almond Upton, Jr. and Miland Upton. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 9:15-10:15 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. at St. Philip the Apostle Church, Pompey Hollow Rd., Ashford, CT. Burial will follow in St. Philip Cemetery, Ashford, CT.
