Robert "Bob" C. Usas, 60, of Hightstown passed away Thursday. Born in Binghamton, NY, he has lived in Hightstown since 1972. Bob was a U.S. Navy Veteran who served aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise with Fighter Squadron 142 for two cruises in Yankee Station (The Gulf of Tonkin) during the Vietnam War. He retired from IBM after over 25 years of service and most recently worked for Target. A former Post Commander for Hightstown VFW 5700, he was an avid NY Yankees fan, a car enthusiast, and lover of music. Predeceased by his parents, Walter and Jeanne Usas; he is survived by his daughter, Susan Usas; his son, Robert Usas, Jr., his sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Jay Patsey of North Hanover, NJ; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Dorothy Usas of Glenville, NY and Ronald and Maria Usas of Chesterfield; several nieces and nephews; and his VFW 5700 family. Relatives and friends may call 10-11am Thursday at Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, 136 Morrison Avenue, Hightstown, NJ. A Funeral Service will follow at 11am Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to VFW Post 5700, 140 Dutch Neck Road, Hightstown, NJ 08520.
