Robert D. McKinney, 88, of the 1700 block of Indian River Rd., Virginia Beach, VA, passed away September 25, 2011, in Richmond, VA. A native of South Boston, VA, he was the son of the late Sallie Burton McKinney and John S. McKinney, Sr. He was predeceased by his wife, Esaleeta Blevins Brewer McKinney. Bob retired from the US Navy, had worked at Fine's Men's Shop, and was owner and operator of White Rock Service Center. Bob is survived by his twin brother, George W. McKinney; his step-children, Richard Brewer and wife Mary, Rose Swicegood and husband Ronnie, Jo Ann Long and Wayne Brewer and wife Betty. He was predeceased by his siblings, Malma McKinney, John McKinney, Jr., Ruth McKinney Compton, Jacob McKinney, Carrie McKinney White, James Hugh McKinney, Margaret McKinney and Glenna McKinney Whitfield. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel with Pastor John Boyer officiating. The burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
