Robert Denniston, age 61, of Scranton, passed away Monday morning at Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scranton. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 25, 1950, son of the late Stanley and Joanne Jeziorski Kowalski, Robert was educated at West Scranton High School and had worked at Chick's Diner. Of Roman Catholic faith, he was a member of the former St. David's Church in West Scranton. He enjoyed collecting coins, was a talented carpet maker and loved playing cards, especially the game War. Never without a stick of Double Mint chewing gum, he also adored his dog, Mooch. He is survived by his three sisters, Bonnie Shiffer and Merry Walsh, both of Scranton, and Helen Fong, Hawaii, and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding in death was a sister, Mary Lorraine. Blessing services by Rev. Stephen Krawontka will be conducted on Thursday at 2:00PM in the Cathedral Cemetery Chapel, Oram Street in West Scranton, with interment to follow. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the chapel from 1:30PM until the time of service. Arrangements, Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 North Main Avenue in West Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
