Robert E. Lasher, 73, Liberty, MO passed away February 9, 2011 at his home. Visitation will be 9:30 – 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 12 at Second Baptist Church, Liberty, MO with funeral services to follow at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Hospital Hospice.
Bob was born January 2, 1938 in Muncie, Kansas. He was raised on a farm in McLouth, KS. Bob graduated from McLouth High School and KCK Jr. College, attended Adams State Teachers College, Alamosa, CO and graduated from Rockhurst College, Kansas City, MO. On August 17, 1958 he and Jo were married. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 32 years retiring in 1992. Bob was appointed V.P./ General Manager of S & A Telephone Company in Allen, KS from 1993 to 1998. He was an Eagle Scout, a Baptist Deacon, member of Second Baptist Church, President of Lewis & Clark Telephone Company Pioneers, and was a member and marshal at Claycrest Golf Club for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Bob loved to travel, hunt, fish, golf and most of all being with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mary Lasher, brother Art and his beloved daughter, Kathy Lasher. He is survived by his wife, Jo Anne Lasher; brother, Jim Lasher; son, Michael Lasher and his wife Nila; daughter, Karen Dorsey and her husband Gregory; grandchildren, Tristan and his wife Marie, Natosha, Meghan, Jon and Makayla; several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, cousins and devoted friends.
