Robert E. Lewis, Sr. 66, of Wabash, Indiana, went to be with his Jesus at 10:40 a.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at his home. He was born October 19, 1942 in Paintsville, Kentucky to Clyde C. Lewis and Elizabeth "Babe" (Evans) Lewis Crum.Bob married Sharon Ann (Roser) Crist in Wabash on September 28, 1986. He worked for Celotex in Lagro 39 1/2 years, was a security officer at Parkview Huntington Hospital 5 years, and owned and operated the Chippewa Bait Shop 3 years. He attended the Wabash Chapel Church of God, and was a member of the Hanna Masonic Lodge of Wabash, Fort Wayne Scottish Rite and Mizpah Shrine, and member and past worthy patron of the Wabash Order of the Eastern Star. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a loving husband, dad, grandpa, and friend.He is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann Lewis of Wabash; five children, Tina (Mike) Lewis of Huntington, Indiana, Lisa A. (Charles) Hauck of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Robert E. "Robbie" (Kim) Lewis, Jr. of LaFontaine, Indiana, Rodney A. (Crissy) Crist of Wabash, Scott A. (Amy) Crist of Carmel, Indiana; a brother, Paul R. (Thelma) Lewis of Wabash; two sisters, Betty Crum and Arietta Branham, both of Paintsville; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sandy Kastner of Wabash; 12 Grandchildren, Jennifer Lewis, Heather (Jeremy) Wilburn, Michael Lewis, and Matthew Lewis, all of Huntington, Nicole Hauck, Allison Hauck, C.J. Hauck, and Danielle Grace Hauck, all of Cedar Falls, Ashley LeeAnn Crist and Lacey Elizabeth Crist, both of Wabash, and Ella Ruby Crist and Lydia James Crist, both of Carmel; and one great-grandson, Ryker Jacob Eugene Wilburn of Huntington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, his parents, and his stepfather.Funeral services will be held at Wabash Chapel Church of God, 1463 Middle Street, Wabash, on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ralph Johnson and Doug Oakes officiating. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 5-8 p.m., Thursday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Masonic services will be at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m., Thursday.Preferred memorial is Wabash Miami Home Healthcare and Hospice or the Wabash Chapel Church of God.
