BARNES, Robert Earl age 78 of Miamisburg, OH and formerly of Dayton, OH, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Newark Healthcare Centre in Newark, OH. Bob was born on January 17, 1931 to the late Dr. Ward L. Barnes and Grace Henderson Barnes. He graduated from Stivers High School and then enlisted in the U.S Navy for four years serving in California and Alaska. He graduated from the University of Dayton with a degree in Public Communication. Bob spent many years in the television business, finally serving as behind the camera satellite coordinator for WKEF, Channel 22. Bob is survived by brother and sister-in-law, William and Dolores Barnes of Granville, OH; nephew, Brad Barnes and family of Granville, OH; niece, Barbara Herkert and family of Newport, OR; other family members, Ralph and Joan Tincher, Rex and Louise Tincher of Dayton and Amy and Mark Fitzsimmons of West Carrolton. Funeral services will he held on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Family will receive friends from one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420 or to a charity of choice.
