Robert Earl Bridges, 78 of Leesburg, Florida died Friday morning, June 1, 2007 in the Princeton Community Hospital. Born in Bonham, Texas on July 19, 1928 he was the son of the late Edd and Ella Cole Bridges. Mr. Bridges was retired from the National Security Agency after 19 years of service. Prior to working for the NSA he spent 22 years in the US Navy having served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Ceres Baptist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Beavers Bridges and a daughter Brenda Lee Bridges Hampton. Survivors include his Wife Alma June Dowell O¯Connor-Bridges Daughter Anita Faye Bridges Miller and fianc¯ Richard Gerber of Sykesville, MD Son Alan Dale Bridges and fianc¯ Kelly Newsome of Tampa, Florida Three Grandchildren Charles Robert Miller Catherine Jean Miller Austin Lee Hampton Two sisters Doris Duff and Jane Cooper both of Texas Two Brothers Hollis and Eugene Bridges also of Texas In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Bridges will be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held 1:00 P.M. on Monday, June 4, 2007, from the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Courthouse Road, Princeton with the Reverend James Mooney officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of the Virginias, 1037 Stafford Drive, Princeton, WV 24740. Those attending the service on Monday are asked to meet at the Mausoleum Chapel on the Courthouse Road, Princeton.
