Robert G. Nash, age 70, of Scranton, died Wednesday evening at the Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton. He is survived by his beloved wife, the former Sylvia Parker. Wed on September 15, 1962, the couple were married for 49 years. Born on April 21, 1941, and raised in Taylor, son of the late Robert and Stella Strzelecki Nash, Robert was a graduate of the former Taylor High School, Class of 1958. Employed by RCA for 26 years, he had worked for Allied Services for the past five years. A U.S. Army Veteran, he was a member of the American Legion. A sports enthusiast who loved to fish, he was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Boston Redsox and enjoyed collecting baseball cards. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, whose world revolved around his family. He will be greatly missed. He is also survived by his four children, R. Jason Nash and wife Stephany of Nicholson, William B. Nash, Philip J. Nash and Judy Sandly and husband Al, all of Scranton; siblings, Leonard Nash and wife Jeanne of Factoryville, Marlene Matosky of Noxen, and Patricia Moeller and husband Frank of Taylor; two grandchildren, Katie and Emily Sandly; several nieces and nephews; and cousins. Funeral services by the Rev. James Buchanon, Pastor of the Berean Church in West Scranton, will be held on Monday at 7:00PM in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 5:00PM until service time.
