Robert Hiram Jackson, Sr. was born on June 28, 1927, in St. Louis Missouri, to Queen Esther Greene and James Jackson. Robert was raised on the Southside of St. Louis by his mother Queen Esther (Greene) DeBaun and stepfather, Frank DeBaun Sr. Robert accepted Christ at an early age, demonstrating his love for Christ through Holy Baptism at LaSalle African Methodist Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank DeBaun Jr. and his sister Elizabeth Taylor. Robert was a lifelong native of St. Louis and attended Vashon High School. He was a World War II veteran in the US Navy who after being honorably discharged, worked as a cab driver, chauffer, constable, and truck driver. Robert always put God first and with his own hard work and tireless support from his wife, Johnnie Mae (Howard) Jackson, they have maintained their current home since October 5, 1965. One of Robert's proudest accomplishments was his life with Johnnie Mae and their family (The Jackson 5). Robert leaves behind his loving wife, Johnnie Mae (Howard) Jackson of 62 years, two sons, Robert H. Jackson, Jr. and Ronald H. Jackson; one daughter Renée (Jackson) King and son-in-law, Alex King, Jr.; sisters, Edith Miller Johnson and Garnell DeRamus; grandchildren, Damon King, Lisa Byrd Page, Dietrich Shearer, Danielle Jackson, Kandyce King Chambers, Krystal Jackson Brooks and Alex King III; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. The family would like to thank you for your prayers and support. We thank God for giving us "this" man and - if you knew him, if he has touched your life in any way - we know he has left a part of himself inside you.
