Mr. Robert H. "Bob" Shank, 72, of 10480 Buena Vista Drive, Waynesboro, entered into rest on Friday, May 31, 2013 in Boynton Beach, FL. Born June 18, 1940 in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late H. Rupert "Rube" Shank and Irene "Peg" (Barkdoll) Shank. He was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area. He graduated from Waynesboro Area High School with the class of 1958. He later graduated from Penn State University on June 10, 1961 with an Associate's Degree in Engineering and Electrical Technology. He also attended Hagerstown Junior College from 1962-1963 studying Continuing Apprentice Electricians and Industrial Electronics. Mr. Shank served with the Pennsylvania National Guard. He and his wife, the late Barbara A. (Smith) Shank, were married on June 8, 1963 in Waynesboro. Prior to moving to their present residence they lived on South Church Street, Waynesboro, for 23 years. Mrs. Shank passed away on September 11, 2010. Mr. Shank worked for A.G. Crunkleton Electric Company, Greencastle. He later was a partner in Shank Brothers Electric Company with his brother, Don Shank. He was last employed by Mack Truck in Hagerstown, MD, where he worked as an electrician for 28 years prior to his retirement in 2004. He was a member of the Owl's Club, Waynesboro. Mr. Shank enjoyed golfing, hunting, bowling, camping, fishing, eating ice cream, working on Sudoku puzzles, lunches with friends at the Owl's Club, vacations with his wife, and time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by three children, Stacy L. Novosat and her husband Dean M. Novosat of Lancaster, PA, Tim Shank and his wife Jan Shank of Boynton Beach, FL, and Kathy S. Gupton and her husband Scott Gupton of Nashville, TN; eight grandchildren, Lauren and Paityn Novosat, Jackson and Madison Gupton, Nicholas and Matthew Shank, Kristen Montag and Ryan Kuiper; two great-grandsons, Cole Montag and Cade Montag; one brother Jim Shank of Westminster, MD; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald L. "Don" Shank. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 22, 2013 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Saturday morning, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The Michael J.
