Robert H. Winkeljohn went into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 after a courageous battle with Leukemia surrounded by his family. Born in Detroit on September 25, 1941, he was the oldest son of Thomas and Dorothy Winkeljohn. Growing up in Wabash, he graduated from Purdue University and spent his adult life in Fort Wayne. He was one of the founders of Almet, Inc - New Haven, celebrating his fortieth anniversary there last year. He is survived by his wife, Diane, the love of his life for over 46 years, and children Rob (Rhonda), Terry, Tony (Jennifer), Holly Brady (Mike) and Andy (Amy) of Fort Wayne, Wendy Evans (Jonathon) of Taipei, Taiwan, 18 grandchildren, sisters Susan (Jim) Galbraith and Linda (Phil) Morris, mother-in-law DeeDee Doehring, and brother-in-law Denny (Carol) Doehring. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law Jeanine." His unselfishness will never be forgotten." Mass of Christian Burial is 11am Saturday, March 20, 2010, at St Peter Catholic Church, 512 E Dewald Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm Friday at DO McComb & Sons Lakeside Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave, with rosary service at 4:30pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
