Reverend Robert Harris-Pendelton was elected as the Senior Pastor to serve the Mount Zion Baptist Church of Boonton, NJ, effective July 1, 2007. Reverend Harris-Pendelton and his family are former members of the Community Baptist Church of Englewood, NJ, where the great Reverend Dr. Lester W. Taylor, Jr. serves as Pastor. Reverend Robert Harris-Pendelton was gifted with great energy, teaching and preaching, leadership and visionary ability. Through the leadership of Reverend Harris-Pendelton Mount Zion Baptist Church of Boonton has experienced a fresh move from God, by which souls have been saved, backsliders have reunited with the church and believers have joined as members. Additionally through the leadership and vision of Reverend Harris-Pendelton the following ministries have been birthed: W.O.W.- Worship on Wednesday Worship Service, Women of Encouragement Women's Ministry, Men of Integrity Men's Ministry, Two Shall One Become One Couples Ministry, and " No More Boundaries"- Reaching Outside the Walls Outreach Ministry. Reverend Robert Harris-Pendelton was a native of New York City; he was the son of Robert and Frances Harris. He was the husband of his friend Karla Harris-Pendelton and the father of Robyn and Kiana. Reverend Robert Harris-Pendelton gave have his life to Jesus Christ during September of 1990. Thereafter, he became a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Gregory Jackson. Reverend Robert Harris-Pendelton was licensed by The Community Baptist Church of Englewood, NJ to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ of December 29, 1997 under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Lester W. Taylor, Jr. he was ordained by The Permanent Council of the North Jersey District Missionary Baptist Association on December 7, 2003. Reverend Robert Harris-Pendelton held earned degrees from several accredited universities. He felt by acknowledging his call to ministry is meant a commitment of preparation, which was why he was currently pursuing his PH. D at Walden University with a concentration in "Family Studies and Intervention Strategies". Reverend Robert Harris-Pendelton was an Adjunct Professor for Nyack Christian College. As an instructor, for the School of Business and Leadership, Reverend Robert Harris-Pendelton had the responsibility of not only teaching adult students academically, but also having the opportunity to mentor, coach, and inspires his students related to God's Word and His Kingdom. His life's scripture-Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ for it is God's power working unto salvation (for deliverance from eternal death) to everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
