Robert Lewis Hartman, 54, of Libertytown, died suddenly, Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009 at his residence. Born March 15, 1954 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of Norma Wallace Hartman of McMurray, PA and the late Howard Standish Hartman. Mr. Hartman was a 1972 graduate of Peters Township High School. He was employed in the Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. areas in building supply sales and was currently with Kohl Building Supply in Frederick. He enjoyed his friendships through work, small engine repair, fishing, camping and go-cart racing. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are daughter, Taylor Joanna Hartman of Libertytown, and her mother, Jan Hartman; two sisters, Diane Postrech of Canonsburg, PA, Sue Hartman of Washington, PA; one brother, Bruce W. Hartman of Chesapeake, VA; and three nephews. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 11802 Liberty Rd., Libertytown, Saturday, Feb. 7, from 2 to 5 p.m. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Pittsburgh. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Educational Fund for Taylor Hartman, c/o Libertytown PNC Bank, 9138 Walnut St., Libertytown, MD 21762.
