Bob Alsdorf, 66, of Des Moines, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at his home.
A graveside service and burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell with the Rev. Tim Stewart, pastor of the Grinnell First Baptist Church, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Child Welfare Foundation of the American Legion Auxiliary.
The son of Julius R. and Ruby James Alsdorf, he was born October 15, 1940, in Albia, where he was raised and educated. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Bob had lived and worked in many places throughout the United States prior to moving to Des Moines in the mid-1980's and had spent many winters in Corpus Christi, Texas. While in Des Moines he was employed as a handy-man for an apartment complex. He was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include a half-brother, Gregg Monsom of Sioux City. He was preceded in death by his father, Julius Alsdorf and his mother, Ruby Simmerman.
