Robert James Stephens, Jr. age 51 of Dallas, Texas passed away December 2, 2011. Son of the late Robert, Sr. and Winifred Deloris Stephens. He was born in Shelby County, Timpson, Texas on August 13, 1960. He was baptized at an early age at Community Bible Church. Robert later joined Southern Crest Full-Gospel Baptist Church in April 2005. As a faithful member for more than seven years, he was an active Usher and continued to strive for a position as a Deacon of the Ministry Board.
He received his education in the Dallas Independent School District and graduated from South Oak Cliff H. S. Class of 78'. He continued his education in Mechanical Trade School. His last employer was Target Warehouse working as a general warehouseman for more than seven years. He was forced to early retirement due to medical reasons. He spent most of his time fishing, playing dominoes, and going on visitations. He loved to visit the elderly, taking them where ever they needed to go and running their errands.
Robert loved family, friends and having lots of fun. He is preceded in death by both parents and one sister; Cynthia Stephens (LaTeshia) of Dallas, TX. He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, LaToyla Jeter of Timpson, Texas, Rokeshia Stephens and Robin Stephens of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Javerea, Lajustic, Shalecia and Lyndsal; two sisters, Diane Timpson (Richard) of Houston, TX and Robin Fisher of Lancaster, TX; two brothers, Dwight Stephens of Lancaster, TX and Obie Bussey of Garland, TX; nieces and nephews, Ralph, Tyecia, Savannah, Mayah, Rickey Jr., Venita, Carla, JR and Anthony); his very best friend, Ms. Eva Urquhart for more than 28 years. You can't hide what's in your heart; So, don't worry about Me. My Soul is going to Heaven before the Devil knows I'm Dead.
