Robert John 'BC' Calvert
BC Calvert, 42, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2011, with his beloved wife Sarah at his side. A life filled with music and humor, BC was a gift in life that will be greatly missed.
BC was born May 8, 1969 in Mechanicsburg, PA, to Joan (Stump) and Robert George Calvert. BC graduated from Red Land High School, Lewisberry, PA, and matriculated to Shippensburg University for a short time before choosing to live in Orlando, Florida, where he has spent the last 17 years in the sunshine.
He is survived by his soul mate and wife, Sarah (Pugh) of Orlando; mother; sister Kim Patterson of Dillsburg, PA; sister Kelly and husband Robert Gustafson of Morgantown, WV; nephew James Rhodes, Jr. of Harrisburg, PA; nephew Garrett Patterson of Dillsburg PA; in-laws Tom and Thelma Pugh of Orlando; sister-in-law Kathleen Janes of Orlando; aunts and several cousins; and his equally beloved four-legged family - Lyric, Hobbs and Kit. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, aunts, uncles and two cousins.
BC was employed at Too Jay's and also built his entertainment company, Calvert Entertainment Group. He loved interacting with people and being the practical joker to make everyone laugh. A big Penn State and Steelers fan, he loved listening to ESPN radio from jobsite to jobsite. The only blessing in his passing is that we are glad he won't have to live through "Joe-Pa" retiring. BC had a passion for music and was a gifted lyricist and songwriter. He spent his evenings with his creative and witty mind always in motion. He brought joy and laughter to his family on a daily basis. BC loved doing for others, and even in death this was apparent through his tissue and organ donation. BC was never happier than the time he has spent with Sarah, and his sisters are so grateful to her for her caring, enduring and unconditional love she gave to him. Together BC and Sarah became one.
A memorial service to celebrate BC's life will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2011, 11:30am at The Paramount at Lake Eola, 410 East Central Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32801, a daily walking spot for BC, Sarah and Lyric. Donations in kind may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.

It was sad to hear the news of an old friend being taken so young. Many of my funniest high school moments can't be remembered without including Bob Calvert. Bob, Dave, and the rest of KnightFall rehearsing in the basement, parties in the clubhouse above the shed, and a fuzzy memory of scrambled pancakes the next morning. RIP, Bob. Your family is in my prayers.

It's hard to express what a loss the world has suffered from Bob's passing. Bob was an amazing man to know, a friend who was always there (always had the best jokes) and was such a talented singer/songwriter. I truly feel blessed to have had the time I did with Bob many years ago. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, his mother and his sisters....and all that knew him.

Unfortunately I didn't know BC. I met him once at the Eola Wine and Food Festival a couple of years ago when I ran into Sarah - and even then it was evident that they were meant for each other.

I do however, know Sarah. And after she met him - she was completely transformed. I could see the happiness radiating from her like sunbeams from heaven :) They were a beautiful couple together and I'm deeply saddened that his passing

I didn't know BC very well at all, but I know Sarah. We've worked together for a few years now and I've never seen her happier than when she was with BC. Her eyes lit up every time she talked about him and she could never stop smiling. I know she truly loved him and I'm so sad to hear that he is gone. I know they say time heals all wounds. I hope that is true for you Sarah.

Kim, Kelly...so sorry to hear this news. I can't imagine the void you must feel. I can still picture him singing in a pretend microphone when he was probably 3 yrs old. We are so saddened by the loss of an incredible and talented man. We are in utter shock at hearing the news this afternoon. BC has been one of my best friends since high school. We shared many of the same interests and were partners in crime a lot. I will always cherish all the great times we had both in PA and FL. From snowman killing, the clubhouse, cheering on your bands, to roof surfing down central PA highways.

I've had so many memories come back after hearing of Bob's passing. One that keeps popping up is the Nightfall concert. The guys in the band had the time of their lives on stage that night. Friends and family in the crowd were proud of the guys. After the concert Bob asked me to pull his
car to the stage so we could start packing up. I got to celebrate early that night because even though his car was missing third gear, it was never missing a bottle of Southern Comfort.
Rest in peace buddy.

Too many great memories.....but some of the best can be described with a few short words: bonfires, PSU, singing til the sun came up with friends (in many basements), band practice, Black Rose, Southern Comfort, Gullifty's, 2nd Street, $7.07 and one of the silliest...bouncing through Toys R Us on "hoppers".

You will forever be missed Bob.

It was during Ninth Grade when Bob had told me that he and his band had gotten their first gig and asked if I would attend. I told him I would and my dad agreed to haul me into town to see the show. Afterward, Bob approached me and asked what I thought. I told him the truth; that they were good and that I was impressed. I never had the heart to tell him that the next time he played at a Catholic Parish rectory he might want to remove "Cocaine" from the set list.

Regrettably, I lost touch with Bob shortly after High School but would like to think that we remained friends through the years. I respect his continued will to achieve success in the music business and will always remember him as a kind soul. My condolences to Bob's mother, sisters... READ MORE →

I remember the first moment I saw BC, his eyes were so amazing. I remember the first moment we kissed...I knew right away he was what I had been looking for my whole life. He was such a beautiful soul. His creativity and ambition was intoxicating.

I am so grateful and honored to be his wife...BC was just an incredible husband. Always caring, selfless, strong, and he always made me laugh....always. BC had a heart of gold, always wanting to take care of me, his family, and strangers.

I am not sure what to say as words have just escaped me over the past few days. My heart is breaking each day we are apart. Together, we were always one. BC, You will forever be my inspiration for anything that I do. You are my everything and I always love you so much.

so shocked by this news i could hardly believe what i was reading? bob was such a good friend, from high school and after. my junior yr prom date, i remember listening to the white album until morning...so many laughs. such a sweet, beautiful and creative person. my heart is heavy that we lost touch over the years. now to find out we ended up only 3 hrs from each other in florida, i never knew? so glad to hear he was blessed with a beautiful love and life...he is gone way too soon....

My heart is heavy today. It brings life into perspective when someone so young and vibrant and sweet dies. When I first moved to florida 13 years ago BC was one of the first friends I made, we worked together and on many occassions I got to hear him sing and play. He was a sweet, kind and gentle soul heaven will be a better place now. I am so sorry for his family and his beautiful wife.
