Robert K. "Bob" Hance, 81, died at 1:54 a.m. Nov. 10, 2010, at his residence. He was born Oct. 8, 1929, in Lima to Margaret Irene Hance, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 3, 1947, he married Marilyn Jane Routson, who survives in Cridersville. Mr. Hance was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. He retired in 1991, from Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant. He was a member of Carpenters union Local 372 and was owner/operator of Hance & Son Construction. He had built several homes in the area. He was a Navy veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 96. Survivors also include three sons, Jeffrey A. (Peggy J.) Hance and Michael James Hance, both of Cridersville, and Robert Daniel Hance, of Powell; two daughters, Katherine I. (Randy) Duff, of Galena, and Pamela S. (William) Lawson, of Dublin; 10 grandchildren, Ross Allen (Melissa) Hance, Nicole Renaé Hance, Christy J. (Sam) O'Quinn, Joshua James (Jessica) Hance, Robert Daniel "Rob" Hance Jr., Brandi Elaine Hance, Joseph Scott (Jana) Duff, Kelly Duff (Gordon) Wilson, Larry Allen (Tracie) Curl Jr., Aaron James Curl; and two cousins, Roy (Virginia) Hance and his daughters Gina and Gaya, and Karen Watkins; three sisters-in-law, Dee (Wayne) Terry, Shirley (Walter) Goedde and Geraldine Davis; a brother-in-law, Don (Theresa) Routson; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda K. Curl; and a daughter-in-law, Alva Gae Hance. Services will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Kent Wilson will officiate, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of services Sunday at the funeral home.
