Robert Kennard Kirk, Jr. January 28, 1921 - January 11, 2012 Robert Kennard Kirk, Jr., 90, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 14, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Ron Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Robert was born January 28, 1921, in Rosebud, Texas, to Robert Kirk and Artie Bullock Kirk. He married Esther Wuebker on November 26, 1953. Robert worked for General Tire and Rubber Co. for 32 years, retiring in 1982. Upon retirement, Robert began "taking tickets" for Baylor Athletics. He loved supporting Baylor in this way for over 20 years. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Robinson, TX. Robert loved the sport of baseball. He coached numerous years in Little League and Teen Age baseball in Waco. When his sons were no longer playing baseball, he was frequently seen at games just for the love of the sport. He was an avid Texas Ranger's fan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; and his seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include his sons, Charles R. Kirk of Hewitt and Carl D. Kirk and wife, Ronda, of McGregor; granddaughter, Courtney E. Kirk of Waco; grandson, Colby D. Kirk of McGregor; brother-in-law, William "Bill" Wuebker, of Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family expresses their thanks to Dr. J.D. Kosarek and staff of the Midway Hillcrest Clinic for their many years of care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O.
