Robert L. Sipes, age 80 of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Baptist Health Medical Center. He was born October 3, 1930 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to his late parents Raymond and Mamie Sipes. Robert was an avid hunter, had a love for the outdoors and a love of the open road. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War and had an unsurpassed love for his family and his country.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years Jewell Dean Sipes; four children, Gwyn Taylor of Palatine, IL, Mike Sipes and his wife B.J. of Bentonville, AR, Rusty Sipes of Dallas, TX and Tracy Sipes and his wife Lavena of Smithtown, NY; six grandchildren, Jason Taylor and his wife Kacie, Danielle Taylor, David Sipes and his wife Heidi, Dustin Sipes, Cameron Sipes and Jeff Sipes; and five great-grandchildren, Madison Kay Sipes, Savannah Sipes, Colm Taylor, Erin Taylor and Sophia Taylor. He is preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter Courtney Sipes, his parents and his daughter-in-law Karen Sipes.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy 5 North, Alexander, AR (501) 455-1067 with Reverend Lorrie Slaymaker officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. A visitation will be on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
