Robert Lee "Bobby" Green On July 6th, 1951 Bobby entered our lives in Baytown, Texas, across the street from Robert E. Lee High School. He began his newest journey on July 31st, 2010. Bobby grew up and made Longview his home, graduating from Longview High School in 1969. He owned and took pride in his business, Green Masonry Construction. His superior workmanship is evident in east Texas and across the country. Bobby refreshed his body and soul at his cabin on the Llano River in the hill country of Mason County, where many memories were shared with family and friends – each and every person was always welcomed at "The River". Football and baseball were his sports – as a participant and coach to his small sons. Bobby loved life, possessing many gifts he readily shared around a campfire or in your home. Bobby's home was in the hearts of the people he loved. The many great stories of his life are found in the forests of Idaho, the road trips to the West Coast, scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef, roaming the coliseums of Rome, or exploring our country with family. However, Bobby compared these grand experiences to be equal to the challenge of catching a record-breaking alligator gar in the Sabine River. The adventure continued when Bobby realized his dream of piloting his own plane. He was more free there than anywhere. Many who heard a plane go by their house would say "There goes Bobby". Preceding Bobby in death were his stepfather James H. Rhiddlehoover, father Russell L. Green, grandparents John and Carlotta Montana, H. F. Green and wife Alice and Lucinda "Lucy" McNair. Bobby is survived by his wife of 22 years Kathie, mother Dora Montana, brother John Green, Sr. and wife Jeannie, sister Cindy Lassen and husband David, sons Kelley Green, Philip Green and wife Ashley, daughter Leann Duffin and husband Philip, stepdaughter Korie Mullenberg and husband Stuart, stepson Kasey and wife Kristin, stepson Kelly Parks, grandchildren Dylan and Lane Green and granddaughters Lindsey and Landry Duffin, step grandchildren Colton and Kylee, Uncles Rudy, Richard and Rueben Montana and stepmother Shirley Green, as well as many nieces and nephews that loved and cared about him as well as lifelong friend Harold Tinsely and Family. As we start our transition without our beloved Bobby with us: we will cry, we will laugh, and we will feel more complete simply because we had him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to send donations to Beacon Hospice in his memory. Friends and family are invited to join us in a celebration of life at Lake Cherokee Activity Center NK-20 from 5:00 until 7:00 on August 6, 2010.
