Robert L. Smith - Portsmouth Robert L. Smith, 77, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Dec. 5, 2011. He was a loving father and husband to wife, Cherie; sons, Harry Smith (Debbie) and Bobby Smith (Laura); daughters, Robin Cassidy (Ed), Cheryl Hollman (Fred) and Cathy Rucker (Bill). He had 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was a faithful Christian and a proud and dedicated member of Wayside Baptist Church. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00pm on Dec. 10, 2011 at Wayside Baptist Church, 712 Canal Dr. Chesapeake, VA. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Wayside Baptist Church.
