Robert Louis "Sonny" Shiver, 78, of Paris passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Services are scheduled for 11:00 am, Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Fortenberry and Reverend Bill Felts officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am, Thursday at the funeral home.

Sonny was born November 30, 1933 in Lamar County to Joe Shiver and Eula Rice Shiver. He married Diane Parker, February 16, 1957 at East Paris Baptist Church, building over 55 years of family and memories. Sonny served his country proudly in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War. He was a member of East Paris Baptist Church and the Bill Felts Sunday School Class. One of his greatest joys was attending the weekly men's breakfast at his church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Keith Shiver.

Survivors include his wife, Diane; two sons, Ronnie Shiver & wife Maureen of Austin and Jeff Shiver & wife Jeannice of Hailey, ID; one daughter, Dina Reynolds & husband Matt of Fair Oaks Ranch; grandchildren, Andrew Shiver of Austin, Ben & Blake Reynolds both of Fair Oaks Ranch, Gracie, Claire, and Ella Shiver all of Hailey, ID; one brother-in-law, Tommy Parker & wife Barbara of Sumner; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Lancaster & husband Carl Lee of Cash and Elise Parker of Paris; one nephew, Barry Shiver of Paris along with a host of friends.

Casket bearers will be Kris Parker, Wesley Parker, Ben Reynolds, Blake Reynolds, Andrew Shiver, Kevin Lancaster and Jerry Dolf. Honorary casket bearers will be the Members of the Bill Felts Sunday School Class.
