Robert "Satch" Maheu, 73, of Winslow died suddenly Fri., Nov. 4, 2011 at MaineGeneral Medical Center Thayer Campus in Waterville with his family by his side. He was born Nov. 10, 1937 in Winslow the son of Archeles and Mary Jane (LaFlamme) Maheu. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1956. In 1957 he married Nancy Veilleux. He was vice-president of Winslow Aluminium. He coached Midget Football in Waterville, Little League and Travel Basketball in Winslow. He was an avid sportsman, loved the Red Sox, Patriots and N.Y. Giants. He also loved fishing and hunting. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Nancy; his children, Brenda and husband Bill Veilleux of Winslow, Mary and husband Michael Farrell of Farmington, David and wife Tricia Maheu of Waterville; grandchildren, Amie and husband Russ Juergens, Danielle Farrell and partner Jared McCourt, Erik Maheu and fiancé Robyn Miller and Austin Veilleux; great grandchildren, Gracie and Thomas; a sister, Pearl Ahearn of Bridgewater, MA; brother, Donald and wife Marilyn Maheu of Winslow; sister, Florence Pooler of Waterville; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; brothers, Adolph, George and Napolean Maheu, and Pete Boutin; sisters, Violet Fecteau, Geraldine Flibbert, Rose and Roland Roy. In lieu of flowers donations in Robert's memory may be sent to St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wed., Nov. 9, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Church, 26 Monument St., Winslow. Committal prayers and burial will follow in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, 78 Grove St., Waterville. Arrangements are with the Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm St., Waterville.
