Lt. Col. Robert Nason Caulfield, U.S. Army (Ret.)
COLUMBIA, S.C. - Lt. Col. Robert Nason Caulfield, U.S. Army (ret.), 78, formerly of Sierra Vista, Ariz., died Saturday, December 24, 2011. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2011 in Massachusetts National Cemetery. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, Columbia, is assisting the family.
Born in Boston, Mass., Lt. Col. Caulfield was a son of the late Harold N. and Clara Ellis Caulfield. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam, he retired with 30 years of service. He was of the Episcopal faith. Following his retirement, he and his wife traveled around the world.
Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Caulfield of Columbia; sons, Eric Caulfield (Catherine) of Columbia, Scott Caulfield (Alexandra) of Yarmouth, Maine; daughter, Susan Caulfield of Kalamazoo, Mich.; brother, William Caulfield (Audrey) of Winchester, Mass.; four loving grandchildren.
