Robert Russell Proppe left this world on Monday, June 1, 2009. Bob was born in Los Angeles, California on January 20, 1939 and leaves behind an extended family who loved and appreciated his honesty, his sense of humor, and his love for all of us.

Bob leaves his wife Paula Harris Proppe of Bismarck; his son Damon Proppe and wife Darla of Hot Springs; his daughter Jessica Proppe Miller and husband Ray of Fayetteville; four grandchildren Chance Proppe of California, Clayton Miller, Savannah Butler, and Jordan Shelley of Arkansas; and seven beautiful great-grandchildren; and his life-long friends Mary Stonebraker and David Ault.

Bob was preceded in death by a devoted wife of 40 years, Patricia Elizabeth Stonebraker Proppe, and by his parents, one brother, and two sisters. He leaves four sisters who will always remember their special big brother: Kathleen Allen of California, Penny Benofsky of Washington, Susan Collins of Michigan, and Heidi Balsitis and her husband Rich of Illinois.

Bob was the joy and passion in his wife Paula’s life, his son’s best friend, and his daughter’s mentor. He loved learning; he loved books; and he loved to laugh. He leaves behind some of the best memories that anyone could ever give to their family and friends. Only the physical part of Bob has left us, and we will keep him always in our hearts.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the entire staff of Arkansas Hospice of Hot Springs for their help and support.

We request, in lieu of flowers or memorials, that you remember us with your loving thoughts.
