Robert Rix
1919 ~ 2011

Robert Rix, passed away Feb 3, 2011 at the age of 92. He was born January 26, 1919 to Robert Rix & Mary Dickson in Stockport, England. Married Edith M. Leaman on January 27, 1940, later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple. They shared 67 wonderful years together, making many friends and memories.

Robert was a veteran of World War II having served in the British Army from 1940 to 1946, with the British Royal Engineers, serving in France and Germany. In 1952 he immigrated to the U.S. with his wife and young daughter.

He was a builder by trade and spent many years in the construction business. Later as a salesman for Texas Refinery Corporation, then becoming western states division manager for Consolidated Protective Coatings until his retirement. He enjoyed what he did and he and Edith were able to do extensive traveling all over the world.

Survived by two children daughter Barbara (Steven Capener) & son Robert Rix (DeAnne, deceased) 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a sister. Preceded in death by his wife.

A brief gathering for family & friends will be held on Feb 9, 2011 from 11:00 to 12:00 noon at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary & Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 So. (Bengal Blvd) Salt Lake City, UT., grave dedication & interment to follow.
