Robert J. Sarola, 79, of St. Joseph passed away, Monday, November 21, 2011 at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph.

Robert was born October 26, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Victor & Virginia (Barra) Sarola. He graduated from Paw Paw High School and attended Western Michigan University on a baseball scholarship. Robert was a devoted husband and father with a deep love and affection for animals.

Robert is survived by his son Mike (Kim) Sarola of St. Joseph; daughters Linda (Donald) Hughes of Youngsville, NC, Susan (Jeff) VanDamn of Richland, MI and Karen Conyers of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren Ryan Mauchmar of Raleigh, NC, Ali Parr Tickle of Raleigh, NC, Andrew Sarola of Stevensville, MI, Alicia Sarola of South Bend, IN.; former wife Alyce Macdonald of Franklinton, NC.

Robert was preceded in death by his father Victor Sarola; and mother Virginia Sarola; brother Joseph Sarola; and sister Dorothy Copps;
