Robert Stephen Fisher Robert Stephen Fisher, 65 of Granite Falls passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Winston Salem. Born May 31, 1947 in Clinton County, Indiana he was the son of the late Raleigh Fisher and Dorothy Horn Fisher. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Joe Fisher; sister-in-law, Ruth Bogan; and two brothers-in-law Howard Smith, and John Downs. Survivors include his wife, Thelma Fisher of the home; two daughters, Stephanie Abernethy of Newton, NC, Angela Kirby of Valdese; two sons, Robert Fisher Jr. and wife Carol of Granite Falls, Andrew Fisher of Morganton, NC; three brothers; three sisters; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012, 11:00 a.m. in the Bass-Smith Granite Chapel with Rev. George W. McCullough III officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hills cemetery. Memorials may be made to Caldwell County Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 902 Kirkwood St., Lenoir, NC 28645. Bass-Smith Granite is serving the family of Robert Stephen Fisher.
