Robert W. Koyle III

I think one of the things I liked most about Robert was his sense of humor. My favorite memory of Robert was the night in Sierra Vista when he and Roni invited me and Michael out to dinner at BJ's. Michael was so excited because he was starving after their long day at work, and Robert really hyped him up about going out to eat, and how good it was. We all piled into their new Jeep and took off. As we began heading out of Sierra Vista, Michael began getting antsy and asked Robert where he was driving. Robert laughed and said "All the way to Tucson, there's no BJ's in Sierra Vista!" He knew Michael would never agree to drive over an hour for food, so he tricked him! We laughed the whole way there, and it was definitely one of the most fun nights out we had with the Koyles. Robert and his sense of humor will always be missed, he was such an a great person to be around!

I don't know how to put into writing what Robert meant to me, and my family. As kids we grew up together on the same street. We were a group of buddies. Robbie, Ian, Jordy, and myself all shared countless days of fun, getting in trouble together, doing yard work, joking, laughing, talking, and growing up. We grew together to become the men we are today. One of my fondest memories that I used to love reminding Rob about was one time when we had just gotten off the bus from school. We were maybe 13 or so. Robbie and Jamie were jokingly taunting each other as we were walking up the hill to our houses. Jamie was on the other side of the street, and Robbie was so wrapped up in his next masterpiece of verbal taunt that he failed to notice the fire hydrant directly in his path. He proceeded to walk forward tripping over the top of the hydrant (ouch), and continuing into a very ungraceful, dance-like fall. He looked at my brother and I, all of us speechless with the same "are you serious?" look on our faces, and we all burst into laughter. Laughter that not only went on for minutes, but carried on throughout the rest of the day as we kept randomly thinking about it or doing impressions of "Robbie's new dance". It is a memory that I will cherish always. That was only one memory out of a whole childhood of memories I was gifted with sharing with Robbie. He loved to laugh, and he was so good at making me laugh. That is what I will miss the most about him. As others have said, he was shy and reserved at first, but beneath that he was a warm and compassionate guy with such a good soul. He was always there for me. A great man, and an amazing friend that I will never forget. I love you Rob. All the Judges do.

I never got chance to really meet Robert. However I got to know him thru is sister Jamie, niece Michelle, and wife Roni. I will never forget meeting Roni and her saying she was Roberts wife with such a happy, proud glow on her face. Michelle telling me about him in Alaska. But most of all I will never forget the emotion at Jamie and kevins wedding. while taking pictures jamie had to hold herself together because her brother was in Alaska and could not be in the wedding pictures. Then to see Roni and Jamies family comfert her by telling her that she could skyp with Robert in 30mins. Then to see Roni set up her lap top say Hi to her husband and have the rest of the family see him too:) Like I said I never got to really know him, but the happy emotions were overwhelming with love joy excitment and togetherness. You would have never know he was only on skype. Robert got to watch his other half walk in Jamies wedding, playing with their nieces and most of all watch his sisters wedding. Robert never stopped smiling when he was on skype. I could tell he was a proud happy husband brother and son.

I met Robert when my husband was in tech school and got to meet his gorgeous wife shortly after meeting him! I always admired their relationship and his outlook on life. He was a very dedicated person to his family and always a pleasure to be around. I wish that we had gotten the privilege of getting stationed at the same base or gotten to spend more time together, but the time I do remember is a blessing in itself. I was on skype with Roni and Robert when the 9.0 earthquake hit Japan and got to have them freak out right along side me all the way in Alaska. I wish lots of healing, peace and love brought to both families and will constantly keep everyone in my thoughts as this journey begins after death. I love you guys and will be here no matter what! Thank you for being an amazing husband to my dear friend Robert, life ended far too soon for you but this will not be the last of your name. <3>

A very shy guy initially, but someone that when you made it into his "circle" you could trust him with anything. By far one of the smartest people I've ever met. Talking with him opened my eyes to different ideas and thoughts I will remember forever. Playing Poker with him was always a blast. He knew all the percentages and knew when he should win. I didn't get close with him until he stayed with Jamie and I in Oklahoma for a few months. After that we had a strong bond. He will forever have a special place in my heart.
