Rodney Ralph Scofield, 48, of LaPorte, Indiana passed away Sunday, July 15, 2007 as the result of an accident. Rodney was born on May 4, 1959, in Gaines, Pennsylvania to Ralph and Pat (Hurlburt) Scofield. Rodney was a truck driver for over 26 years. He was currently employed by CBS Transportation, Inc.

On May 25, 1998, Rodney married Barbara Avery who survives. Surviving with his wife Barbara is a son, Brian Michael Scofield at home; step daughters, Julia Ann (Tim) Fancher of Stevensville, Michigan, Andrea Lynn (Jason Warnke) Burkowski of Stevensville, Michigan, Hillary Burkowski of Stevensville, Michigan; his mother, Pat (Donald) Bock of Sierra Vista, Arizona; his father, Ralph (Judy) Scofield of Gaines, Pennsylvania; step grandchildren, Seth and Nolan Fancher, Sabrina Burkowski, & Angelina Warnke; a sister, Cherrie (Michael) Tomme of Gulf Port, Mississippi; a niece, Channel; and great niece, Sarah; and a nephew, Chad Tomme.

Mr. Scofield was a veteran of the US Navy.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at the Three Oaks United Methodist Church, 2 Sycamore Street East, Three Oaks, Michigan. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007, at the Three Oaks United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Three Oaks, Michigan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Scofield family.
