Rodolfo Obien dela Cuesta, age 70, of Daly City, California. After a courageous 2 1/2 year battle with cancer, Rodolfo passed away
peacefully at his home in Daly City on Thursday, March 15, 2012. Rodolfo was born on February 20, 1942 in Pinili, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Grew up in Batac, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Son of the late Silvestre la Cuesta and Florencia Obien dela Cuesta and only had one sister, Evangeline dela Cuesta Consolacion.

He attended college in the University of the Philippines and graduated from National University in Manila, Philippines with a degree in Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering and another degree in Bachelor's of Science in Accounting at Philippine School of Business Administration. He served in the United States Coast Guard in 1968 and was stationed at Corpus Christi, Texas for four years. After his discharge, he went back to the Philippines and got married to Caridad Romas Morales on June 1, 1972 and they lived happily for almost 40 years. They migrated here to the United States of America on September 4, 2001.

He is survived by his loving wife, Caridad and his five beloved children; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Michael Sales, treasured grandchildren Maria Veronica, Jiro Michael, and Marie Antoinette of Quezon City, Philippines; his daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany Grace and Darwin Labao, and his grandson, Matt Gabriel of Quezon City, Philippines and his son, Reuben Carlo, daughter, Karen Anne, and the youngest son, Christian Paul. His mother, Florencia Obien dela Cuesta, and his sister Evangeline dela Cuesta Consolacion along with the countless other extended family members and friends whom were blessed to know him. He will be greatly missed and he will never be forgotten.
