Rogelia Flores Mendez was a resident of Pomona, CA and passed away on December 8th of complications following a stroke and heart attack. Born Rogelia Flores in Zacatecas, Mexico to Juana and Francisco Flores, Mrs. Mendez was a beloved wife and mother. After surviving an episode of cardiac arrest and being hospitalized for two weeks in November and December of 2010, she made a full recovery and was under dialysis treatment for end-stage kidney disease.

Mrs. Mendez came to the Los Angeles area after giving birth to her son in the mid-1960s. For the next thirty years, she worked for various restaurants where she made friends with many around her with her personality. Notably, she worked for Hutch's BBQ in Pasadena and Acapulco Mexican Restaurant in Northridge, as well as many others.

She loved to drive, cook, visit casinos, and spend time with her friends and family. She was a vivid storyteller with a charismatic personality and will be missed dearly. She leaves behind her husband Rene Mendez, her son Carlos, and daughters Patty and Juliette.
