Roger D. Underwood, 68, of Andover, IL, died Friday, November 11th, 2011 at home.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 15th, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church in Andover, IL. There will be a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 14th, 2011 at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home at 1301 4th Street in Orion, IL. Burial will be at Swedona Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Orion American Legion Post #255. Memorials may be made to Roger's grandchildren's education fund or to the American Cancer Society.

Roger was born on April 4th, 1943 in Moline, IL to Harold and Kathryn (Seabloom) Underwood. He married Darla A. Rehn on May 9th, 1970 in Oneida, IL.

Roger was in the Air Force from January 1966 until May of 1969. Roger was an assembler for JI Case in Rock Island, IL and later at Case IH in East Moline, IL where he retired from in June of 1999. He was a member of the Local UAW 1304 in East Moline, IL. He belonged to the Orion Methodist Church. Roger was an avid Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Illini fan. He was also a season ticket holder for the Chicago Bears. Spending time with his grandchildren and working in the garden were very happy times for Roger.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Kenny "Butch" Underwood.
