DANA- Roger Leon Vicars, 68, of Dana, Indiana died at 5:55 am Monday, January 28, 2013 in St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital at Indianapolis. He was a retired barber, carpet designer and installer, worked for the Railroad and construction. He was born December 15, 1944 in Jonestown, Indiana to the late Max Vicars and Marcella Rogers Vicars. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Judith Hirschbein Vicars whom he married August 22, 1964 in Bensonville, Illinois; also surviving, one son, Jeff (Dana) Vicars of Dana; one daughter, Kathleen (Jeff) Knopp o f Dana; two brothers, Larry (Diane) Vicars of Elgin, Illinois and Jim (Brenda) Vicars of Clinton; one sister, Diane Pitchkites of Clinton; four grandchildren, Gwyndolen (Dimitri) Morson, Seth Leon Vicars, Gretchen Vicars and Grace Vicars; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Tom Vicars and a sister-in-law, Rita Vicars. He was a member of the Hillsdale Bible Church, Bensonville (IL) Masonic lodge #1159. He loved woodcarving, coon hunting and his dog "Chigger". Services will be 11:00 am Friday February 1, in Overpeck-Gooch Funeral Home at 225 N. Maple Street, Dana, with Pastor Jim Roland officiating. Burial will follow in Bono Cemetery, Dana. Visitation is 4-8 pm Thursday at Overpeck-Gooch Funeral Home with a Masonic memorial service conducted at 7:30 pm by Jerusalem lodge #99 of Clinton. Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to the Hillsdale Bible Church in his memory. Friends may sign an online guest register at www.goochfuneralhome.com.
