Roger R. Barnett, 79, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Born in Ft. Wayne, Roger was a Korean Army Veteran and worked at Commercial Freight in Indiana for 38 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church; American Legion Post #47; Teamsters Local 414; and Teamsters Retirees Club. Surviving are his son, Scott (Elizabeth) Barnett; step-son, Gary Curtis; step-daughters, Vicki (Chuck) Knipstein, Cindi Holley and Lori (Woodrow) Stiewig; brother, Harold (Mary) Barnett; sisters, Evelyn Dennis, Betty Blackburn; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Roger is preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Nancy; parents, Ralph and Stella; son, Michael; brothers, Ralph Jr. and Wayne; and sister, Eloise Cole. Service is 2 pm Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 3 to 7 pm Monday at the funeral home.
