Ronald A. "Tony" Johnson, age 48, of Moline, died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at his residence.

Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Melanoma Research at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics or to the family.

Tony was born March 25, 1963 in Moline, the son of Vernon and Marian Wilson Johnson. He married Sherri Pitra on May 19, 1984 in Moline.

Tony was employed as a salesman/internet coordinator for Reynolds Motor Co., retiring in 2005. He was a 1981 graduate of Moline High School. Tony was a Marine Corps veteran. He attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Tony was a member of Moline Masonic Lodge #1014 A.F. & A.M., and was also a member of First Lutheran Church in Moline. He loved landscaping, working in his yard, and his annual trips to the boundry waters. Tony had a strong love and passion for family. He always had other people's best interest in mind and always put a smile on people's faces. He truly lived by his motto "Never surrender. Never give up".
