Mr. Ronald H. Burch, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2009. He was a 1956 graduate of Rockford High School. While in high school, Ron worked part time at Burch Body Works and was involved in school sports. For 15 years he was a driver at Coit Avenue Gravel Company, but was always involved during his life at Burch Body Works & Carpenter Bus Sales. During the latter part of his working life, he and his father, Donald, took over the Carpenter Bus Franchise. His brother, Chuck came into the business in 1978 with Ron involved in the repair of buses. Ron enjoyed his Harley motorcycle and the freedom of his ride with air blowing by him. He would ride to Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula, and to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Ron also traveled out west to hunt elk and hunted for deer with his son-in-law, Terry. He had special memories of the time spent at the cottage at Big White Fish Lake. Throughout his life he was very generous to others. Ron is survived by his children, Tina and Terry Grover of Grant, Eric Burch of Goose Creek, SC; grandchildren; Crystal, Tiffany, and Josh; brother, Charles and Patricia Burch of Rockford; sister, Susan and Rick Hudson of Howard City; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald in 1993, his mother, Madeline Burch in 1950, and his step mother, Mary Burch in 2007. Interment will be in Rockford Cemetery.
