Ronald "Mac" Edwin McConnell, 67, passed away April 11, 2011. He was born in New Jersey and retired from the US Navy after 30 years as an Aircraft Handler. Ronald was a member of Princess Anne Plaza Baptist Church and the Gideon's International Virginia Beach East Camp. He is survived by his wife, Sandra L. McConnell; daughters, Kelly Lutz and husband David and Christine Wurzler; grandchildren, Taylor McConnell, Alexandria McConnell, Joseph Wurzler, Chad Rick, Shayla Rick and Ayden Burton; sister-in-law, Cheryl Lawless; and one great grandchild on the way. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:45 a.m. in Princess Anne Plaza Baptist Church with Pastor Ron Lee officiating and burial in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel Thursday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gideon's International, Princess Anne Plaza Baptist Church Building Fund or the Sentara Foundation in care of the Heart Hospital, 6015 Poplar Hall Dr., Norfolk, VA 23502.
