Ronald L. Spittler, 72, of Port Charlotte lost his battle with lung cancer on May 31, 2011. He was the son of Darwin and Maxine (Allen) Spittler, born March 9, 1939 in Decatur, IL. Ron served in the US Army. He came to this area in 1960 and owned and operated Best Dry Wall for many years. Ron will be greatly missed by his wife of 20 years, Lynn; sons, Mark (Marie) Spittler and Darwin Spittler, both of Port Charlotte; daughters, Melody (Dan) Himle of MN, Alice Spittler of Port Charlotte, Melanie Cumbee of MN, and Nancy-Lynn Block of Port Charlotte; twin brother, Donald Spittler of Port Charlotte; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jeanine Burkett. No services are planned at this time. To express condolences to the family, please sign the online guest book.
