Ronald Monroe Treece
September 5, 1934 – February 19, 2011
Ronald Monroe Treece, 76 went home to be with his lord on Saturday. He was a fine example of a Christian to all who knew him. He was the manger of Piggly Wiggly on Meridian Street for many years, sang bass for the Valley Echoes, and was a faithful member of Lakewood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents James Lester and Leora Treece; a sister, Virginia Loman; and a great-grandchild, Hailey Butler.
He is survived by his wife ,Jean Treece; a brother, Charles and his wife Annette Treece; sons Jimmy and his wife Faye Treece and Bobby and his wife Patsy Treece; daughter Rhonda Butler; grandchildren Christy Walley, Jamie Treece, Laura Treece, Ashley Butler, Kelley Butler, Summer Treece and Carla Tucker. Great grandchildren Candace Morgan, Desi Morgan, Jerry Walley, Hannah Butler, Keeley Stephens and Devlin Tucker.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 pm until 8 pm at Valhalla Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 pm on Wednesday at Lakewood Baptist Church. Mr. Treece will lie in state for one hour prior to the funeral service. The family is especially grateful to Hospice of North Alabama for their loving care during his illness.
