Roosevelt D. Lampkin was born January 31, 1933 in Waxahachie, Texas. to the late Gus Lampkin and Margaret Dawson. Roosevelt Lampkin was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was united in holy matrimony to Nadine Haley on May 14, 1971. Roosevelt was baptized into Christ in 1970. He was known for his dedication and compassion toward the betterment of others. Roosevelt was the church treasure at School Road Church of Christ , Neches, Texas. He constantly strived to teach and lead others to Christ. Roosevelt was a part of the National Evangelism with Sojourners. His passion was to help build up small congregation. He and his wife would travel in their RV from place to place to work at Children homes, and help with hurricane victims. His favorite mission work was Evangelism/Physicallabor. Both young and old loved him. Roosevelt was a devout man of God. Roosevelt retired from Allied System after 25 years of service. He and his wife moved to Pensacola, Florida where they truly enjoyed their golden years. * Roosevelt leaves to mourn: his wife Nadine Lampkin and children: Donald Ray Lampkin of Duncanville, Texas, Janet Lampkin Williams of Dallas, Texas. Bonnie Lampkin of Irving, Texas. Six grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. One brother Dock Lampkin of Seguin, Texas. One aunt Mary Dawson of Waxahachie, Texas. Favorite cousins; Rose Kirby and daughters, Rhonda Sims, Rachel Kirby, and Regina Rice. Godson Marzette Porterfield of Atlanta, Georgia. Favorite brother in-laws; Roy L. Haley (Mildred), James P. Haley (Barbara), and Hoyt Haley Favorite sister in-laws; Lue V. Collier, Betty Webb, Othela Vasher, Jossie Gaston and Addie Wilson. Host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
