Rosa Afton Goodman Robinson passed away peacefully in the home of her son Don in Tucson, Arizona, the evening of May 27, 2011. An Arizona native, she was born in Saint David, Arizona on July 16, 1923. She was a vivacious young woman who loved music, dancing, and sports, and she had a happy youth as the daughter of Joseph Edwin Robinson and Rosa Ellen Naegle. Her young adult years were influenced by the events of World War II. She contributed to the war effort by serving in the Red Cross and as a civilian employee of the military at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. After the war, she was called to serve a mission in the Central States Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

As a missionary, Afton caught the eye of another young missionary, Don Leslie Robinson. After the completion of their missions, they fell in love and were married in the Arizona Temple. As a loving wife, mother, and friend she looked for opportunities to serve all those around her. Faithful to the Church, she had the opportunity of serving in many callings including being a visiting teacher and relief society president. She, along with her husband of 61 years served two additional missions. They were called to serve as church education missionaries in Shiprock, New Mexico and in Capetown, South Africa.

Devoted to her family, she is survived by her seven children {Rosilene Cook (Glenn), Don Jr. (Sue), Edwin (Jane), John (Diane), Joseph, Julianne Bowler (Vance), and Matt (Debbie)}, twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-three great grandchildren, and six siblings (Joseph Goodman, Margie Brown, Lou Jones, John Goodman, Peggy Goodman, and Nedra Goodman). Her sweet smile and contagious giggle will never be forgotten. She is loved and will be missed.
