Rose (Grieco) Robbins-Eckersley Obituary


Rose V. (Grieco) Robbins-Eckersley, 88, of Kickemuit Ave passed away on December 14th at home. She was the wife of the late William Eckersley. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Russell) Grieco. She was the mother of Joseph Robbins, Cheryl Robbins, Earl Robbins and Daniel W. Robbins; grandmother of Barret Robbins, Jayson Robbins, Tracy Reall, Craig Robbins, Daniel W. Robbins Jr. and the late Susan Ann Robbins; great grandmother of Bianca, Julia, Dylan, Craig, Caden, Kennedi, Bradly, Bryant and Brennan and the sister of the late Marie Bullock.
Rose was a graduate of Classical High School and the Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital Nursing Program. She worked as a registered nurse and pharmacy assistant at the RI Veterans Home for 30 years before retiring. Rose was the former secretary of the BPOE 1860 Bristol Elks as well as an avid tennis player and a member of the Dudek Bowling League.
Her funeral services were held December 21st from the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High St with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Richard Narciso at St. Elizabeth Church. Liturgical readings were by Bianca Robbins and Gena Bianco-Robbins who also read the Prayer of the Faithful. The offertory gifts were presented by Dylan Robbins, Julia Robbins and Bianca Robbins. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were James Cabral, Joseph Sousa, James Borges, Emmanuel Pimental, Nelson Cabral and Nuno Carvalho.
