Rose Marie Coleman, 52, of South Charleston, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at home.
She was born on July 17, 1959 in Parkersburg, WV. She was a 1977 graduate of Wirt County High School where she was a member of FBLA and the National Honor Society. She obtained her BA of Business degree from West Virginia State University. She was employed at Bayer Crop Science for the past 30 years. She was formerly a radio operator for the West Virginia State Police in Parkersburg.
Rose was the secretary for Ridgewood Pool in South Charleston, a board member and secretary and door prize coordinator for The WV Good Sams Club, Team Mom for the South Charleston Little League and she participated in the Susan G. Komen Walk for the Cure.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ann Thompson; paternal grandparents, William H. and Vera L. Thompson; maternal grandparents, Wilson B and Eythel M. Hale.
Rose is survived by husband, Walter L. Coleman, Jr.; son, Jeremy T. Coleman of South Charleston; father, Lawrence L. Thompson, Sr. of Elizabeth; brother, Lawrence L. Thompson, Jr. of Elizabeth, sister, Bonnie S. Bell (Tom) Hennen of Elizabeth; brother, Richard B. (Dora Lea) Thompson of Mineral Wells; eight nieces and nephews; seven great nieces and nephews; sister-in-laws Linda J. (Doug) Ratliff of St. Albans and Terri L. (Mark) Swecker of South Charleston
A Service to Honor the Life of Rose Coleman will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 23, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, South Charleston with Pastor Rick Pursley and Chaplain Homer Fink officiating. Entombment will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Family and friends may visit from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. West, Charleston, WV 25312
