Rose Simoniello Calabrese, 97, wife of the late Louis F. Calabrese, passed away September 8, 2011 in Arden House. She was born in New Haven Oct. 22, 1913, a daughter of the late Anthony and Nora Laucella Simoniello and was a resident of Hamden since 1961. Before retirement she was employed at the Olin Matheson (Winchester) Co. She will be remembered by her family as a loving caregiver. Rose is survived by her daughter, Barbara J. Calabrese of Hamden, her son Louis F. Calabrese and his wife Lynn Ramsden Calabrese of Southington, her grandchildren, Scott Calabrese and his wife Farrell of Johnson City, TN, Jennifer Calabrese of Lexington, SC., and a brother Edward Simoniello of West Haven. She was predeceased by brothers Michael, John, Richard and Nicholas Simoniello and a daughter in law Carolin Mayhew Calabrese. Friends and relatives may visit with her family on Monday, Sept. 12 at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEYAVE, HAMDEN from 9-11 am. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Ascension at 11:30 am. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be sent to the Church of the Ascension, 1050 Dunbar Hill Rd, Hamden, CT 06514.
